Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mount Carmel walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Bermudian Springs Eagles on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the RED TORNADOES sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Lukas Carpenter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
In other pitching news, Noah Shimko looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.
Carpenter wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clarke Cartright, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
