The Northern Patriots are on the road again on Friday and play against the Archbishop Carroll Lions at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Northern has not done well against Huntingtown recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Northern had just enough and edged Huntingtown out 57-54.
Northern's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Emmanuel Powell, who scored 17 points along with three steals, and Alec Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Powell scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Ellis, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even though SEED DC scored an imposing 60 points on Wednesday, Archbishop Carroll still came out on top. Archbishop Carroll walked away with a 70-60 victory over SEED DC. The win was nothing new for Archbishop Carroll as they're now sitting on three straight.
Northern's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Archbishop Carroll, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
