Basketball Game Preview: Hilltop Lancers vs. O'Farrell Charter Falcons

The Hilltop Lancers will head out to challenge the O'Farrell Charter Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hilltop will be strutting in after a victory while O'Farrell Charter will be coming in after a defeat.

Hilltop will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 25 points last Saturday, then bounced right back against Logan Memorial Education Campus last Monday. Hilltop was the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over Logan Memorial Education Campus. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lancers have posted since December 10, 2024.

Hilltop's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isma Hasani, who posted ten points and five steals. Hasani is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Devin, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, O'Farrell Charter came up short against Mar Vista on Tuesday and fell 68-59. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

O'Farrell Charter's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Hilltop, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Hilltop strolled past O'Farrell Charter in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilltop since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
