The New Prairie Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Goshen RedHawks at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday. New Prairie is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, New Prairie ended up a good deal behind South Bend Adams and lost 63-49.
New Prairie's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Trenton Klute, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Marshall Kmiecik who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Kmiecik is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Clemons, who scored four points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Goshen lost a heartbreaker to La Porte when they met back in February of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. Goshen might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 60-46 to La Porte, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Goshen in their matchups with La Porte: they've now lost five in a row.
New Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Goshen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
