The KIPP P Pride lost against the Warren County Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. KIPP P was beaten by Warren County 59-19. KIPP P has not had much luck with Warren County recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
KIPP P got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Destiny Moody and
Kaiyah Cherry, who each put up four points. Cherry also led the team in rebounds with 16.
Among those leading the charge was Aryana Meadows, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Warren County's points. Chaliyah Richardson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
KIPP P bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Warren County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
KIPP P will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 55.8 points per game, Southeast Halifax has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game. As for Warren County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Weldon at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Weldon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
