It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the McLaurin Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They managed a 56-52 victory over Piney Woods. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McLaurin.
Leading McLaurin to victory were Anderson Vidaurri and Michael Wallace. Vidaurri scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Wallace scored 25 points. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Wallace has scored at least 25% of McLaurin's points. Another player making a difference was Tyrone Frazier Jr., who scored six points along with three steals.
McLaurin's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Piney Woods, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
McLaurin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mize at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Piney Woods' road trip will continue as they head out to face Mount Olive at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st.
