Waldron is 8-2 against Southwestern since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Waldron Mohawks will be playing at home against the Southwestern Spartans at 8:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Waldron and 13 for Southwestern.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Waldron, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-37 loss to Bethesda Christian. Waldron has not had much luck with Bethesda Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jack Fischer, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Lucas Shaw was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Southwestern came up short against Union County on Saturday and fell 60-50.
Waldron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
Waldron strolled past Southwestern in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 57-40. Does Waldron have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwestern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
