Marcellus had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Abram Coffey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cale Hackenberg, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Marcellus is undefeated when Hackenberg posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Seth Barrera, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Marcellus' record is now 18-11. As for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-15.

Looking ahead, Marcellus will challenge Michigan Lutheran at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
