Wallace found their leader in freshman Cooper Miller, who went 12 of 18 on his way to 28 points and eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Davis, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Wallace smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.
Several Wampus Cats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Howard, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Howard is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Cruz, who posted 13 points.
Wallace now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Clark Fork, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wallace will face off against Kootenai at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wallace knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Kootenai likes a good challenge. As for Clark Fork, they will take on Priest River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Priest River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
