Stevensville had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Frenchtown Broncs, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-6 back in April.
Stevensville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McCoy Endres, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Endres has brought in this season.
As for Frenchtown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On Frenchtown's side, Brooks Day was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, Day posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Silas Zetterberg looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jordan Warner was a standout: he went 5-for-6 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Konnor Klimpel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Stevensville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Ignatius at 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Frenchtown, they will face off against Beaverhead County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Broncs 2.8, the Beavers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
