Softball Recap: Winslow Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Empire, Winslow was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Ganado Hornets with a sharp 23-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Winslow got a massive performance out of Rylie Sharp, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Sharp a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kyah Wilcox, who fired off three doubles, four RBI, and two runs while going 5-for-5.

Winslow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .610. They are 11-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Winslow pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.0 runs over those games. As for Ganado, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Winslow will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ganado, they will head out on the road to take on Window Rock at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Window Rock has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.31 runs per game on average), something Ganado will no doubt try to take advantage of.
