Basketball Recap: Kordon Henderson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Odessa

Southwest posted their biggest win since February 2nd on Friday. Everything went their way against the Odessa Bronchos as the Southwest Raiders made off with a 61-37 victory. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Bronchos are ranked 721st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kordon Henderson out in front who posted nine points and five boards. Henderson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Daveion Lee was another key player, putting up nine points.

Southwest was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southwest now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Odessa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Southwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-66 victory against Granbury on the 13th. As for Odessa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-40 win against Cooper on the 14th.
