The Christian Patriots''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 28-19 to Mira Mesa. Christian lost against Mira Mesa in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-33 score last time.
Despite the loss, Christian still got an impressive performance from Spencer Johnson, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Tyson Line had a dynamite game for Mira Mesa, throwing for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Chris Brown also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.
Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mira Mesa, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian will take on La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. La Jolla knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Christian likes a good challenge. As for Mira Mesa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Mira Mesa is ranked 241st).
