Clinton Central extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-7-1. They lost 9-0 to the Delphi Community Oracles. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Oracles when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Delphi Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Considering they have won six games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Delphi Community's part, Alyissa Stier was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Stier a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other pitching news, the result came thanks to Mairi Cunningham's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Delphi Community let Sami Leopard and Mady Anderson run wild. Leopard went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Anderson a new career-high. Kiya Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Clinton Central has already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Clinton Prairie on the 30th. As for Delphi Community, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 loss against Pioneer on the 1st.
