Highland Springs is 10-0 against Varina since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Highland Springs has three straight wins, Varina has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Highland Springs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Glen Allen 66-45. 66 seems to be a good number for Highland Springs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Highland Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ah'kiyah Pye led the charge by scoring 17 points. Pye is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Taylor, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Varina was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 53-47 to Atlee.
