Cook Inlet recap October 8, 2013
West added to the longest winning streak in Cook Inlet this week by beating South, 23-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Eagles.
Service took down Dimond 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Darren Tatum threw for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 14 yards during the win.
Zyrelle Jones threw for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Marquise Rayford was the best wideout in the league this week as West defeated the Wolverines. Rayford tallied 4 receptions for 127 yards. Leroy Elliott helped West's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 109 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback CJ Toomer of the Cougars is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,107. He has also thrown 24 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Elliott. The West star has 32 catches for 696 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Service and Chugiak. Kevin Kern's team enters the contest ranked third in the state, while the Mustangs ranks 11th.
