The Edgemont Moguls lost against the Newell Irrigators back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Edgemont took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irrigators. Edgemont has struggled against the Irrigators recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Moguls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hadley Hollenbeck, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Lauritsen, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Edgemont has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Newell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Edgemont will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Devils at 7:00 p.m. As for Newell, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Timber Lake is ranked 122nd, while the Irrigators are ranked 106th).
