The Sandusky Blue Streaks had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They strolled past Columbian with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. Given Sandusky's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Columbian is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sandusky got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aazoriyon Bonner out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Bonner is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Jason Henlon was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds.
Sandusky pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.1 points per game. As for Columbian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandusky will take on Huron at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Columbian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
