The Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions will face off against the Padua Franciscan Bruins at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin has eight straight  wins, Padua Franciscan has four straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got the win against Beaumont School  by a conclusive  18-5. Considering the Lions have won nine contests by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Alex Mould made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got a  massive  performance out of  Lily Rader, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Maya Rowan, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  double.
 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont School only posted  an  OBP of  .409.
 Meanwhile, Padua Franciscan came up short against  Holy Name on Friday, falling  11-5.
 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-5. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Padua Franciscan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin couldn't quite get it done against Padua Franciscan in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 as they fell  8-5. Can the Lions avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
