In what's become a running theme this season, the Langley Saxons gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Herndon at home to the tune of 51-21. The win was familiar territory for Langley who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Anya Rahman, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Shamloo, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Langley pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Herndon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Langley will square off against Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Yorktown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Langley is ranked 15th). As for Herndon, they will head out on the road to square off against Meridian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
