The Dora Bulldogs were the 64-59 winner over the West Point Warriors when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Dora took a hard 67-52 fall against the Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Dora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Warriors are ranked 133rd).
Dora lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Collin Abrom, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Williams, who scored 14 points.
Dora now has a losing record at 11-12. As for West Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dora won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Carbon Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 854 points over their last 13 contests. As for West Point, they will head out on the road to face off against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence County and the Warriors are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
