The Redwood Giants will head out to face off against the Marin Catholic Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Redwood will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Redwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Terra Linda with a sharp 18-5 win on Monday. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Stella Belluomini made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gia Meyers, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kait Christensen, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Redwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Marin Catholic's offense. They fell 3-0 to San Rafael on Monday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Redwood is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Marin Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Redwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Marin Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Redwood took their win against Marin Catholic in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Giants since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
