After a string of eight wins dating back to last season, Coeur du Christ Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were dealt a 79-49 defeat at the hands of the Priest River Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Saints have suffered since January 12th.

Coeur du Christ Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Connelly, who posted 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Clemens, who scored 14 points.

Priest River was led to victory by Palmer Coleman and Nate Stiffel. Coleman almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists, while Stiffel went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ian Lamanna, who had eight points.

Coeur du Christ Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Priest River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coeur du Christ Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 93-50 defeat against Lakeside on the 13th. As for Priest River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-45 win against Genesis Prep Academy on the 12th.
