Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Oxford Academy's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Oxford Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 13-9 win over the Portola Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Oxford Academy let Mia Sierra and Xiomara Martinez run wild. Sierra scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Martinez went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Sierra posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Tiettmeyer, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Oxford Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season. As for Portola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1.

Oxford Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-6 defeat against Cerritos on the 11th. As for Portola, they will welcome Irvine at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
