The John Carroll Catholic Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Central Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
John Carroll Catholic gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Satellite 4-3.
The team relied heavily on Rhen Solesky, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Zac Yancy also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over South Fork on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.
Timothy Stevens was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kamai Purce was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
John Carroll Catholic's record now sits at 2-3. As for Central, their record is now an identical 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. John Carroll Catholic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
John Carroll Catholic skirted past Central 4-3 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
