The biggest upset of the week belonged to Seneca, who took down 62nd ranked Mt. Vernon, 48-20.
Cassville extended the longest winning streak in Big 8 this week by beating Monett, 30-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Aurora's dynamic duo of Clayton Sumners and Andrew Parker proved tough for Logan-Rogersville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sumners threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns and Parker had 106 yards receiving. Kurt Hadlow helped Aurora's passing attack out by catching five balls for 82 yards.
Zach Beyer made the biggest impact on defense this week as Carl Junction fell to Lamar. The junior forced one fumble.
Nick Thompson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 133 yards as the Bulldogs fell to the Wildcats. Dustin Satterlee also contributed to the rushing game with 10 yards on the ground.
Carl Junction's Satterlee and J Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Satterlee has thrown for 1111 yards this season, while Thomas has 25 catches for 349 yards. The Mountaineers' Shane Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 691.
A big matchup in Big 8 this week will be when the Tigers take on the Cubs. As it stands, Lamar is in second, while Monett is in fourth.
The Indians moved up to 47 from 78 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Seneca was able to make the jump by beating Mt. Vernon 48-20.
