At the plate, Tre' Lawrence and Jason Spurgeon did most of the damage at the plate: Lawrence got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Spurgeon went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Spurgeon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colton Price, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Lucy Beckham got the win against Goose Creek on Friday by a conclusive 14-1. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won six in a row.
Sam Dielmann looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lucy Beckham got a massive performance out of Drake Ketchin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Ketchin continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Cummings, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cane Bay has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lucy Beckham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cane Bay might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Lucy Beckham when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Cobras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
