It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-39, which was the final score in Ad Fontes Academy's tilt against Fairfax HomeSchool on Friday. Ad Fontes Academy has struggled against Fairfax HomeSchool recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian Academy had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 55-21 victory over Dominion Christian at home. The victory was just what Covenant Christian Academy needed coming off of a 66-41 defeat in their prior match.
Gabriel Marvin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Candland, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Something new happened on Friday as Benjamin Pavlak saw his first action of the season, playing 18 minutes against Dominion Christian. Pavlak made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points along with five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Ad Fontes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Covenant Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
