Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slocum). They breezed by the Coolidge Yellowjackets to the tune of 59-14 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Slocum pushed their record up to 13-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Coolidge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slocum will venture away from home to challenge Mount Calm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Slocum is facing Mount Calm at the right time seeing as Mount Calm is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Coolidge, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Neches at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
