Jamestown and Sharon are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Muskies will take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jamestown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Jamestown's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Oil City by a score of 3-0.

Miranda Biles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Sharon entered their tilt with Slippery Rock on Saturday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They blew past the Rockets 17-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by eight runs or more this season.
Like Jamestown, Sharon also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelyn Vogan. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Vogan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Marley Bundrant was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Claire Bodien, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Sharon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Sharon pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jamestown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jamestown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sharon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Jamestown came up short against Sharon when the teams last played back in April, falling 4-0. Can the Muskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
