There's no place like home for the Logansport Berries, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Winamac by a score of 66-59 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Logansport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Taylor, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Dubes, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Winamac lost, one person who can't be blamed is John Malchow. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Malchow posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Brendan Hines, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Even though they lost, Winamac were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logansport only racked up 12 assists.
Logansport's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Winamac, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will take on Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Logansport's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Winamac, they will head out on the road to take on North White at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winamac is facing North White at the right time seeing as North White is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
