The Green Level Gators will head out to take on the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Level is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Green Level earned a 5-2 win over Willow Spring. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Gators have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Chase Meyers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ben Bernard was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Hytmiah, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Southern Lee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Triton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.
Ben Harrington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Harrington was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Bailey Berg looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Harrington wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Patton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Patton has snagged this season.
Green Level now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Southern Lee, their record now sits at 5-2.
Southern Lee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Green Level hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Southern Lee, though, as they've only averaged .185. Will they be able to contain Green Level's hitters?
Green Level might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Southern Lee in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
