On Thursday, the Bastrop Rams faced the Natchitoches Central Chiefs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bastrop came out on top against Natchitoches Central by a score of 53-45. The victory was nothing new for Bastrop as they're now sitting on six straight.
Bastrop was led to victory by Alana Myles and Mariah Heard. Myles scored 14 points, while Heard scored 16 points. The matchup was Heard's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayleah Wilson, who scored seven points.
Bastrop pushed their record up to 19-0-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Natchitoches Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bastrop won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Avoyelles on December 29th. Avoyelles will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Bastrop is ranked 20th). As for Natchitoches Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
