The Shenendehowa High School will take on the Shaker Bison at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Shenendehowa was handed an 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mamaroneck, sneaking past 3-2.
Noah Lam looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
At the plate, Eli Prenderville was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Shaker put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Guilderland. The result was nothing new for the Bison, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jason Bailey and Henry Mora did most of the damage at the plate: Bailey got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Mora went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Mora a new career-high. Kiran Casey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The victory got Shenendehowa back to even at 3-3. As for Shaker, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Shenendehowa has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Shaker struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Shenendehowa suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Shaker in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the High School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
