Bryan is 9-1 against the Bunnies since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Bryan Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Benson Bunnies at 5:15 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Bryan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Bryan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They took a hard 66-50 fall against Kearney. Bryan has struggled against the Bearcats recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was LC Doss, who scored 12 points. Rylan Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Benson was the victim of a tough 65-41 loss at the hands of the Vikings on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Benson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Vikings are ranked 20th).
Bryan's record is now 12-5. As for Benson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Bryan beat the Bunnies 67-60 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Benson's Goanar Bamach, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 24 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bryan still be able to contain Bamach? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
