The Willow Spring Storm scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fuquay - Varina 72-37 at home. That looming 72-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Willow Spring yet this season.
Willow Spring's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Solomon, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Grant Overman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Nathan Mathew and Dylan Finch certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Mathew scored eight points along with two steals, while Finch scored 12 points. Mathew continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Clark, who scored six points along with two steals.
Willow Spring has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season. As for Fuquay - Varina, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Willow Spring will head out on the road to square off against Southeast Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Raleigh has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 780 points over their last 12 contests. As for Fuquay - Varina, they will be playing at home against South Garner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Garner has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
