Even though the Seligman Antelopes scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, the Williams Vikings still came out on top. Williams managed a 64-58 win over the Antelopes. The win made it back-to-back wins for Williams.
Nickoli Cody continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cade Trimble, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Seligman's loss came despite strong showings from Montae Walker and Carmelo Manakaja. Walker dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds, while Manakaja scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Walker hasn't dropped below two steals for 19 straight games.
Williams is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Seligman, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will face off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Ash Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Wednesday. As for Seligman, they will head out on the road to take on the at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. El Capitan/Centennial Academy will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
