The Davis Sr. Blue Devils struggled with assists on Wednesday (the Sheldon Huskies had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Davis Sr. had to suffer through a rough 79-51 loss at the hands of Sheldon. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Davis Sr. in their matchups with Sheldon: they've now lost six in a row.
Davis Sr.'s loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alden Mccabe, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Coaker, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Jaden Woodard, who scored 23 points for Sheldon. Nicholas Stone was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Davis Sr. has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Sheldon, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Davis Sr. will look to defend their home court on Friday against Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Davis Sr. will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Franklin is ranked 96th). As for Sheldon, they will head out on the road to challenge Pleasant Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon is facing Pleasant Grove at the right time seeing as Pleasant Grove is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
