The Glenvar Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patrick County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Glenvar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Patrick County likes a good challenge.
Glenvar scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past James River 67-45. The score was close at the half, but Glenvar pulled away in the second half with 42 points.
Glenvar relied on the efforts of Aidan Hylton, who scored 14 points along with five steals, and Brody Dawyot, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Hylton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Shephard, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Patrick County came up short against James River on Saturday and fell 62-53. Patrick County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Glenvar's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Patrick County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
