The Mandarin Mustangs are on the road again on Friday and play against the Monarch Knights at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Mandarin rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 28-24 W over the Seminoles. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Mandarin was the better team in the second half.
Mandarin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tramell Jones led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Jaime Ffrench jr also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Monarch came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Palm Beach Central as Monarch made off with a 35-13 win. Considering Monarch has won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Antonio Ward and Aj Hairston were among the main playmakers for Monarch as the former rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries and the latter threw for 301 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes. Samari Reed also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.
Mandarin's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Monarch, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
