Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Hanover's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Hanover won the last time they faced ConVal and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bears were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Cougars. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Alex Boone made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jack Lobb and Wyatt Daigle did most of the damage at the plate: Lobb went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Daigle got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave Daigle a new career-high. Jorgen Drent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hanover has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for ConVal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hanover will face off against rival Milford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, ConVal is set to challenge their familiar foe Coe-Brown Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
