Given Southwest Onslow's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while South Lenoir is ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southwest Onslow's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yamorie Hardison, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Hardison is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Oriyanna Galloway was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Clinton by a score of 49-42 on Monday. That looming 49-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wallace-Rose Hill yet this season.
Southwest Onslow's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
