Baseball Recap: Centennial's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Centennial can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Friday, they had to take a 10-5 loss.

Juju Rodriguez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Derek Cohen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Centennial's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 4-16. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will welcome Parkrose at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.32 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against La Salle at 5:00 p.m. The Falcons will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
