Even though the Rock Creek Mustangs have not done well against the Tushka Tigers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rock Creek put the hurt on Tushka with a sharp 54-34 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-15.
Tushka lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tucker Willis, who scored six points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Tuff Carey, who scored seven points.
Rock Creek is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Tushka, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Rock Creek will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Boswell at 8:00 p.m. Boswell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Rock Creek is ranked 84th). As for Tushka, they will head out on the road to square off against Coalgate at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coalgate is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
