After a string of four wins, Montrose's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 17-4 to the Elk Lake Warriors. The matchup marked the Meteors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Violet Conning and MycKenna Kublo did some serious damage despite the final result: Conning went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Kublo went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That triple was Conning's first of the season.

Montrose's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Elk Lake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.
