This season hasn't been kind to the Clatskanie Tigers, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were the victim of a rough 66-40 loss at the hands of Portland Adventist Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Clatskanie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Portland Adventist Academy is ranked 91st).
Portland Adventist Academy was led to victory by Trygg Patchin and Dane Petersen. Patchin scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Petersen scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists. That's the first time this season that Patchin grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Oiver Thompson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Clatskanie's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Portland Adventist Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clatskanie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Toledo at 11:30 a.m. on December 16th. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they will take on Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
