After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Show Low, the Payson Longhorns were happy to have found some success on Friday. They managed a 41-37 victory over Snowflake. The victory was all the more spectacular given Payson's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Snowflake is ranked 12th).
Payson was led to victory by Alondra Ramirez and Hannah Sarnowski. Ramirez scored 13 points along with two steals, while Sarnowski scored ten points along with seven assists.
Payson's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Snowflake, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Payson on the road again on Monday and play against Globe at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for Snowflake, they will challenge Window Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
