Given Lakeside Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while River Valley is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wes Rahn led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaycee Guzman, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Fort Atkinson scored an imposing 63 points on Saturday, Lake Mills still came out on top. Lake Mills walked away with a 71-63 win over Fort Atkinson.
Lakeside Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Lake Mills, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
