It was a good run, but The Ada Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Poteau. The low total for Ada limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Brock Boyles threw for 58 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Deante Lindsay was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Kolten Carlock rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Ada's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Poteau, their victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Ada will take on Broken Bow at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poteau, they will head out on the road to face off against Stilwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stilwell has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 8.
