The Fayette Falcons lost against the New Franklin Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Fayette fell to New Franklin 54-49. Fayette has struggled against New Franklin recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Fayette lost, one person who can't be blamed is Oakleigh Hill. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with 3 steals. Hill scored a full 40.8% of Fayette's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kay Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for New Franklin, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayette will take on Marceline at TBD on Thursday. As for New Franklin, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Westran. Hopefully Westran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
